本学会は、アジア各国からの実践活動報告，被災者の発表，基礎研究発表、さらに各国独自のトラウマ治療理論や危機介入技術の紹介などを通して、アジアにマッチした「災害後のこころのケア」を創造していく国際学術団体です。 　近年の災害の頻繁な発生に伴い、「災害後のこころのケア」は、理論面、実践面ともに著しく発展してきています。 　アジアの諸国は人のつながりと家庭を大切にする観念を共有しており、この点において個を重視する西洋の考え方とは異なっています。私たちアジアに生きる者は、アジアの文化や特徴に基づいた理論を探求し、アジアの文化に相応しい心理援助の理論と実践モデルを模索することを心掛けねばなりません。
